<p style="text-align: justify;">Les chercheurs de l&rsquo;<a href="http://www.hhi.fraunhofer.de/" target="_blank">Institut Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz</a> (HHI) à Berlin (Allemagne) ont développé une nouvelle technologie nommée Visible light communication (VLC) qui peut transformer des <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diode_%C3%A9lectroluminescente" target="_blank">diodes électroluminescentes (DEL)</a> ou (LED en anglais) d&rsquo;une salle en réseau local sans fil offrant des vitesses de transmission allant jusqu&rsquo;à 3 Gbits/s (gigabits par seconde).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Déjà en 2011, ce groupe de scientifiques avait réussi à créer un <a href="http://www.ispreview.co.uk/story/2011/08/02/scientists-use-led-light-bulbs-to-make-800mbps-capable-wireless-network.html" target="_blank">réseau local à 800 Mbits/s</a> en utilisant des feux clignotants en DEL. Maintenant, le même groupe a réussi à créer de nouveaux composants qui peuvent atteindre une vitesse de transmission de 1 Gbit pour chacune des fréquences lumineuses. La vitesse de transmission peut être étendue à 3 Gbits vu que les DEL de plafonds utilisent généralement trois fréquences de lumière, RVB (Rouge, Vert et Bleu). Auparavant, les mêmes DEL ne pouvaient être utilisées que dans une bande passante de 30 MHz, mais les plus récentes peuvent fonctionner à 180MHz.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Les DEL bons marchés peuvent être mises sur le plafond et peuvent couvrir environ 10 mètres. Pour transmettre les données, Elle va clignoter (marche/arrêt) à une vitesse tellement rapide qu&rsquo;il sera difficile d&rsquo;observer le transfert d’informations à l&rsquo;œil nu. Il est donc très utile pour les réseaux à courte portée et à grande vitesse. Les nouveaux composants crées par IHH seront présentés au <a href="http://www.foe.jp/en/" target="_blank" class="broken_link">FOE 2013</a> à Tokyo.</p>
