Tech-Connect Tech-Connect est un site web proposant des actualités, des tutoriels, des astuces et un forum dans le domaine technologique, informatique, science, télécommunications, mobile, tablette, windows, mac os, linux, opensource, android et IOS.
Microsoft a activé le support d’IMAP sur Outlook.com il y a quelques jours permettant ainsi l’amélioration de la connectivité au service de messagerie. Auparavant, seul le POP3 ou l’Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) étaient supportés par le service de messagerie Outlook.
Le support d’IMAP permet à Outlook.com d’améliorer le support des périphériques et applications qui ne supportent pas EAS ni le POP3. Ce qui veut dire un plus grand nombre de clients pourront se connecter sur le service. IMAP n’a pas besoin d’être activé sur Outlook.com pour pouvoir être utilisé. Ceci est différent de POP3 qui doit être activé sous Options > Autres paramètres de messagerie > Connexion aux appareils et applications avec le protocole POP.
Les paramètres suivants doivent être utilisés pour connecter un client de messagerie à Outlook.com en utilisant IMAP:
Entrant: IMAP
- Serveur: imap-mail.outlook.com
- Port du serveur: 993
- Chiffrement: SSL
Sortant: SMTP
- Serveur: smtp-mail.outlook.com
- Port du serveur: 587
- Chiffrement: TLS
Procédure de configuration de Mozilla Thunderbird:
- Ouvrez le client de messagerie Thunderbird.
- Sélectionnez Fichier > Nouveau > compte de messagerie existant.
- Entrez votre nom, adresse mail et mot de passe Outlook.com sur la page. Cochez ‘se souvenir du mot de passe‘ pour éviter d’entrer le mot de passe à chaque fois que les mails sont synchronisés.
- Cliquez sur Continuer, puis sélectionnez la configuration Manuelle sur la page suivante. Thunderbird affiche les informations de compte POP3 par défaut, et puisque nous voulons utiliser IMAP, nous avons besoin d’ajouter ces informations manuellement.
- Sélectionnez IMAP sous entrant, changer le nom du serveur par imap-mail.outlook.com, le port à 993 et le chiffrement à SSL/TLS.
- Changer le serveur sortant par smtp-mail.outlook.com, assurez-vous que STARTTLS et le port 587 sont sélectionnés.
- Vous pouvez aussi modifier la méthode d’authentification de ‘détection automatique‘ par ‘mot de passe normal‘.
Cliquez sur Terminé. Thunderbird va tester la connectivité et si tout se passe bien, ajouter le compte de messagerie à la liste des comptes dans l’interface.

J’ai trouvé la solution.
Toutes les adresses mail (@hotmail.com, @live.fr, …) fonctionnent avec imap.
Mais j’ai activé la double authentification sur mon compte.
Pour accéder à l’imap, il faut un code temporaire.
